    The GoechaLa pass trek is a collection of large peaks that make it an incredible experience to do. The route connects to the famed Kanchenjunga National Park, where visitors may experience authentic nature and re-energize their senses. April and May are the best months to see the mountains clearly. Because the sky is clear at this time, the sunset and dawn views may be photographed.

      How to Reach Yuksom:

      By Train:-

      New Jalpaiguri or NJP is a major railway station located southwest of Sikkim. There are many long-distance trains that arrive or pass through the NJP station. You can choose to come to Kolkata and take one of the many trains to NJP. If you are coming from Delhi or the north part of India, try to take any northeast train which directly goes to NJP bypassing Kolkata.

      By Flight:-

      Flying to Bagdogra is another option that you can choose through flights to Bagdogra tend to be pricier than those to Kolkata. You will get flights from almost all the Metro cities of India.

       

      NOTE-  There are shared taxis available frequently from Bus Stand/ Railway Station/ Airport. It costs approx. Rs 3500 per vehicle (shared between 5-6 trekkers).

    • Itinerary

      Day 1 - Drive from Bagdogra Airport/NJP to Yuksom (5,670ft) (7 Hours)

      Description:

      • Begin with the enthrallment of this wonderful trek by catching the remarkable views of the Himalayas while driving from Bagdogra Airport/NJP to Yuksom.
      • The drive will take you along the gushing Teesta River and continuing uphill, you will be crossing a bridge in Legship to reach Yuksom.
      • Arriving in the town, check-in into a hotel, and retire for the day.

       

       

      Day 2 - Trek from Yuksom to Sachen (7,150ft)

      Description:

      • Today will be the first day of this Goechala pass trek! Waking up in the morning, start ascending uphill and follow the gorges of the Rathong River.
      • Trekking through the lush thickets of magnolia, rhododendron, and ferns, proceed towards the Paha Khola Bridge.
      • On the way, relish a packed lunch and keep yourself energized for the rest of the trek; be prepared to spot exotic orchids, colourful flowers, and monkeys along the hike! Arriving in Sachen, settle down at the campsite and call it a day.

       

       

      Day 3 - Trek from Sachen to Tshokha (9,700ft) (via Bhakim/8,600ft)

      Description:

      • The trek for the day will take you through the aromatic viburnum plantations, after which you will be crossing the Prek Chu River and hike uphill for around 2-3 hours to reach Bakhim.
      • Hereafter, trekking upwards, you will finally reach Tshoka, the Tibetan refugee settlement; overnight stay will be in a camp.

       

       

      Day 4 - Trek from Tshoka (9,650 ft) – Dzongri (12,980 ft) via Phedang (12,050 ft) (5-6 hrs)

      Description:

      • On Day 3 of Goechala trek package, you will be making your way uphill and through scenic forests of rhododendrons; you can expect well-laid trails on the way.
      • Moving from here, a short trek will finally take you to Dzongri, where you will spend an overnight stay in camps.

       

       

      Day 5 - Trek from Dzongri (12,980 ft) – Dzongri Top (13,675 ft) (1 hr) and back to Dzongri and then to Thansing (12,930 ft) via Kokchurang (12,100 ft) (5-6 hrs)

      Description:

      • Post breakfast in the Phedang campsite, get prepared for another scenic uphill trek, and with the Goechala pass trek, you will be crossing 4,000m in the Himalayas!
      • With this remarkable feat, enjoy your packed lunch and relax around the scenic vistas to get acclimatized to the higher altitudes.
      • A further climb after relaxation will finally take you to the Thansing overnight campsite area, from where you can have mesmerizing views of the Koktang, Rathong, Kabru, Khangchendzonga, Simco, and Pandim peaks.

       

       

      Day 6 - Trek from Thansing (12,930 ft) – Lamuney (13,700 ft) (2 hrs)

      Description:

      • Waking up in the morning, you can either spend the day relaxing in the camp or just take up a short exploration quest around the camp.
      • The day is much required as you must get acclimatized to the higher altitudes before gaining further height.
      • Enjoy your overnight stay in camps.

       

       

      Day 7 - Trek from Lamuney (13,700 ft) – Goechala (15,100 ft) and back to Kokchurang (12,100 ft) (10-12 hrs)

      Description:

      • Start the day early in order to avoid the harsh climatic conditions that might hinder your course in the latter part of the day.
      • Climbing uphill through the moraines, you will then be descending to Samiti Lake and then cross the Zemathang Plateau.
      • From here, you will once again start ascending over a moraine and after trekking for around 1 hour, will reach the Goecha La Pass viewpoint 1.
      • Arriving at this magnificent pass, behold the magical views of the Kanchenjunga and other distant peaks before you start moving back towards kokchurang for an overnight stay camp.

       

       

      Day 8 - Trek from Kokchurang (12,100 ft) – Tshoka (9,650 ft) via Phedang (12,050 ft) (6-7 hrs)

      Description:

      • Waking up early in the morning, enjoy the enchanting views of the Kanchenjunga Peak from a nearby ridge and start trekking back towards Tshoka.
      • Today, you will be taking a route through the Dzongri Plateau in order to avoid the long climb. The trail passes through Prek Chu and the deciduous forests of Phedang.
      • Arriving in Tshoka, settle down in the overnight stay camps.

       

       

      Day 9 - Trek from Tshoka (9,650 ft) – Yuksom (5,800 ft) via Bakhim (8,600 ft) and Sachen (7,200 ft) (6 hrs)

      Description:

      • Today, descending through the Prek Chu River, you will be arriving in Yuksom, the last leg of this Goechala trek package.
      • Arriving in the vicinity, check-in into a local hotel, and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

       

       

      Day 10 - Departure from Yuksom

      Description:

      • Goechala trek package ends here.
      • After having breakfast in the hotel, prepare your bags and check-out from the hotel. With this, the amazing Goecha La trek will come to an end.

      •  Not to be missed Sunrise view from Dzongri Top of Kanchenjunga, where the mountain looks beautiful as the sun rises and changes the colour.

      • Liwana reserves the right to rearrange or change the itinerary for reasons that are beyond control like Natural calamity, weather conditions, road block etc.
      • Pick up from airport should be mandatorily between 05:00 AM to 07:00 PM. Beyond these timings, it is recommended to stay in Siliguri & Traveller is advised to let Liwana know before booking if they are arriving after 7 PM in Siliguri so that Liwana can rearrange their Itinerary.
      • Liwana will arrange alternate sightseeing for the travellers however cost of alternative accommodation needs to be borne by the customer as the hotels prebooked execute their cancellation policies & are nonrefundable. This is generally what happens when you book the hotels yourself as well.
      • Zero Point is not included in Itinerary & is optional. It is completely dependent on the weather.
      • All Traveller including co-travellers must carry 2 passport size photo and 2 photocopies of a valid id proof along with the originals(voter id, passport, driving license, govt job dept id proof are only accepted). Travellers are recommended to share Soft copies with the tour operator on official WhatsApp chats/groups (Liwana Chat groups) at least 3 days prior to the trip.
      • As per state guidelines, travellers wearing a turban are not allowed in Lachen.
      • Transportation to and fro from NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport is available on request on additional charges.
      • You can also offload your bagpack by paying extra. Your bag should not weight more than 9 kgs.
      • Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
      • By default, we arrange a standard room in the category that travellers books. In case a traveller prefers an upper category room or a suite, they are requested to inform before booking the package.
      • Porters or helpers to carry Central Equipment's
      • Foreigners are not allowed to visit the Baba Mandir
      • The services in Tata Sumo/bolero/ non-luxury car (Allotted from Govt local union) cannot be guaranteed in a good condition as the vehicles are usually very old and are already driven for more than 1 lakh kilometre in hilly terrains. We avoid arranging these cars for travellers.
      • Heavy rainfalls are observed between June – September which means that real time itinerary changes are possible. In case the roads are blocked due to landslides or any other natural calamity, a permit to go to North Sikkim may not be issued.
      • Liwana will arrange alternate sightseeing for the travellers however cost of alternative accommodation needs to be borne by the customer as the hotels prebooked execute their cancellation policies & are nonrefundable. This is generally what happens when you book the hotels yourself as well.
      • GST is applicable to the package and not mentioned in the above cost.
      • Air Fare / Train fare /Bus fare are not included in the package.
      • The tour takes place through eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites.
      • ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered as a valid address proof.
      • Guidelines issued by the State-Government is to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and use of mask recommended.
      • The traveler will have to take care of their international airfare, visa fees, airport tax or any kind of insurance cover.
      • Do not consume alcohol or any other intoxicants during the tour.
      • Real time cancellation is not entertained due to any reasons whatsoever. There will be no refund applicable. Rescheduling date of travel is treated as cancellation. 100% of the tour cost will be charged as cancellation fee due to charges levied in pre-planning & pre-bookings.
